Smartphones are the new laptops. They can access the Internet, film videos, edit those videos, give you access to millions of useful applications, let you have access to the globe anywhere you are and has created a whole new industry called mobile marketing, which today grosses billions. However, not long ago, the cell phone was merely a convenient anywhere tool used to only make and receive calls, send text messages, and access emails.

Many of us have not evolved from the simplicity that was the cell phone a few years ago though. If you ask many people what they use their smartphones for, they’ll tell you the same thing. I use my phone to check emails, make/receive calls and go online. But in this day and age with the advancement of smartphone technology, we should be making our smartphones work for us.

Today you can use your smartphone to track sales, create reports, interact with customers on the go, have virtual meetings, schedule events and calendar dates through your mobile personal assistant (Siri, S Voice or Google Assistant), write your daily journal, get alerts on Industry happenings, track your personal savings and investments plus so much more. Why not push your smartphone to the limit and let it work for you and not the other way around. A smartphone is the new everyday computer, let it be just that.

What do you use your smartphone to do? Let me know in the comments below.
